The Great Cooking Magazine Challenge

It's been so long ago since I participated in my own challenge that I can't remember when it was! I am supposed to try and post a recipe within a week from any new food magazine I buy. Well, readers, I have failed miserably judging by my growing stack of foodie magazines!! lol So what say we change the rules up a little bit. I promise to try and try some recipes every once in a while from Food magazine I buy! Ya...cop out time :-) Oh well..its my blog and I'll do what I want to. So anways! I do have one to share that I tried recently out of the September edition of Everyday with Rachel Ray. It's the Cobb Club on page 101 in the Super Sammies section. And I have to agree...it was indeed super tasty.

If you love Cobb Salad and you love club sandwiches this is a must try for you. I have a thing for club sandwiches. I love the toasted white bread and I love how its cut in quarters and I love the little frilly toothpicks most places use to hold them together. There used to be a place in my hometown of Alexandria, La called the Double V cafe that had the best club sandwich hands down of all time. The interstate came through town and the Double V was smack dab in the middle of all the construction..so the owners retired and my favorite sandwich was history.

This Cobb Club is nothing like that original love of mine, but it sure is a rival!

Here's the recipe..I'm too lazy to retype the thing. Click on the pic to make it larger and you should have no problem reading it.

If you are up to the challenge (which is getting easier by the day) grab the logo, post about a recipe you've tried from a cooking mag you have laying around and link back to this blog! Drop a comment here if you'd like to let me know you gave it a try. I'd love to see what you felt inspired to try and how it turned out.

I'm using this as my contribution to the following events this week:
Tempt my Tummy at Blessed with Grace
Tasty Tuesday at Balancing Beauty and Bedlam and
Tuesdays at the Table at All the Small Stuff
Check out all of the great posts listed on these blogs!

You're forgiven!! The sammie looks good - your chicken is cooked perfectly!
I'll go through my latest Cooks Country and Taste of Home to come up with something for the challenge!

I love your Magazine Challenge. I'm in, it's been a while for me, too!

That sammie looks great! Almost midnight here and now you have me starving for a club sandwich!

Oh yes, I can relate. I have a stack of magazines about eight inches high and I have not opened one of them. I did buy two cookbooks. Haven't opened those either!

I think work is getting in the way of my having fun.

Suzy, what a wonderful choice for your challenge. I love Cobb salad and the idea of a Cobb sandwich seems so simple, yet I've never thought of it. Thanks for posting the recipe. Your sandwich looks perfect!

With your busy life recently, it's no wonder you haven't been able to keep up the challenge so no problemo!

I love Cobb salad so I know I would love this sandwich version - what a great idea!

You know I'm in with the new rules! I subscribe to several food mags and all summer they just get put in a pile. I'm finally starting to dig into them and mark recipes I want to try :) The cobb sammy sounds wonderful!
