Flashback Friday ~ Middle of August

I know I should be satisfied with the blooms I do have since so many of you are under a blanket of snow, but I'm greedy and want more! So I'm flashing back to August of 2008 for a little bit of summer color.

I love the hodge podge cottagey look I have going in my garden at this time.

I end up with some unexpected combinations

And at about this time the dahlias start putting on their show

The hydrangeas are still looking beautiful

And the bee balm starts to take over

Strong, bright, summery colors everywhere!

If you've got a flashback of your own, please join me by adding your link below!

Just beautiful, Suzy...I want spring so badly...winter has more than worn out it's welcome this year. I love the "nasty urchins", that is what we called them as kids, the color is so bright; the dahlias are gorgeous, but my fave is the hydrangea, of course!

Suzy, those dahlias are stunning. I think I better add dahlia's to my list of garden plants this year. Can't wait until August!

Suzy, yes, you should be satisfied with the blooms you have. ;)

I find it amazing that you already have blooms and your blooms are still beautiful in August. Here in the midwest our winters are worse and so are our summers.

I love the dahlias ... they are fantastic, and I love the cottage look. Beautiful!

You have such a wonderful variety in your gardens - I always enjoy each and every photo you share but especially love your dahlias. They are gorgeous - do you have to dig out the tubers in your area each fall?

Suzy, your flowers are gorgeous! I'm now starting to see signs of spring around here. YEA! My daffodils have started blooming...just in time for yet more snow!

Thanks so much for your nice comment about the nightstands. I would love to have you visit again. I have lots of projects like that to post about.

They're all breathtaking blooms! But the Dahlia seems to reign above all others. Beautiful!
