Flashback Friday ~Zinnias

On Fridays I like to flashback to something in the past. This week I'm flashing back to a year ago...reminding myself that I should have started more zinnias from seed this year!

These candy cane zinnias are probably one of my favorite flowers ever

Isn't it just the cutest thing?

Zinnia's in general are just so simple and pretty.

And there is quite a variety

Like this neat color combo

And this one

Next year I'll remember for sure!

Or I'll be posting these again! lol

If you have a flashback of any kind...flowers, photo, recipe, post, memory, whatever, please join in by placing your link below and then linking back to me on your blog.

I'm joining in this week for Fertilizer Friday/Flaunt your Flowers at Tootsie Time blog! Please check out all of the other pretty blooms HERE.

I have never met a zinnia I didn't like. I had the candycane ones last year...

zinnias are so wonderfully easy, aren't they? I love just opening a pack of seeds, sprinkling, and being rewarded a hundred fold.

those are beautiful zinnias! I just love the orange and purple combo one so vibrant. This year, I planted some seeds of zinnias that were supposed to be varigated but they are all solid color.

Beautiful flowers! I wish I could post a picture of flowers in my yard. The problem is I have no flowers in my yard. We live in the high desert part of New Mexico. The wind whips through the canyon we live in and kills every flower I plant. I will just have to enjoy your flowers instead!

Suzy, Your zinnias are gorgeous! Mine are just starting to bloom-I started them from seed. Next year I hope to get plants at the garden center. Hey, I need to tell you something about The Cutest Blog on the Block and your blog background. There is a little window on your blog that says This image or video has been moved or deleted / photobucket. You need to go to the website of TCBOTB and read the information and take some steps to maintain your blog background. Photobucket is causing some of the free blog background sites to lose their ability to store the photos on photobucket, unless they obtain a business account which can cost a few hundred dollars per month. Good luck, Suzy and be sure to e-mail me if you have any questions.
I made the sour cream ice cream from your Friday flashback and smothered it in fresh strawberries - talk about DELISH! Thanks for sharing and I thoroughly enjoyed the social.

Hi Suzy~ ~Great Pics. I'm having trouble with The Cutest Blog background too. I went to their site but there is no place to contact them. Got to find another background I guess but I really liked mine.
Oh Yeah, I knew I came over for a reason. .You Are A Winner! Stop over and see.

Suzy, I love your zinnia collection. I could be happy with nothing but zinnias in my garden!

One of these days, I would like to do a blog post on a retired farmer that moved to our city and started selling zinnias. He has thousands of them growing in his front yard, and I buy myself a little bouquet from time to time.

I love zinnia's. My favorite summer cutting flower. I've never seen these candy cane zinnias. I have to have these next year. I love a new idea for my garden. Thank You.

Suzy, after seeing your Zowie Yellow Flame last year I had to try them. The first pack of seeds from Johnny's was a dud. Not a single seed germinated. Then I ordered two more packs and eventually got 3 seeds to sprout. They're just now starting to bloom. They're so pretty, but I have no idea why I had so much trouble with them. All the other zinnias I grew this year did great. I keep an assortment of small vases on my kitchen windowsill filled with small bouquets of whatever is currently in bloom. Right now it's a mix of black-eyed Susans, zinnias, and cat's whiskers.

Beautiful photos, Suzy. Zinnias are my favorite summer flower because of their intense color and their ability to take the heat. And they last so well in a bouquet too.

Happy weekend!
