A whole angel food cake inevitably gets hard and old in my kitchen. Luckily my local grocery store, Winco, sells a pack of 6 cupcake sized ones. They are perfect for making Strawberry Shortcakes! These California strawberries were huge and sweet. I am so ready for summer.

Oh, Suzy... killing me! That looks so yummy. One of my favorite desserts! Great idea for them to sell the small size.
That looks delicious! I love anything that involves strawberries.

Thank you Sara..me too.
How about I fax it Barb? :-) I wish I had a few more of the little plates. I just have the one.

I can't wait for strawberries...Something to look fwd to!
Great idea. Suzy, looks so good!
Absolutely no calories in that! I'll take two. :)
I love angel food cake! Doesn't last long here at all, but I love the cupcakes. Great idea with strawberries, Suzy, it looks so good!
What a fun dessert to get us thinking of spring! So far, I haven't had much lucking finding good strawberries here.
Suzy, the only way we have strawberry shortcake is with angel food cake. (I had too many of those dry hard shortcakes in my youth.)
Yours look so good. A couple of our local stores sell the smaller ones also. But, I have to admit that the two of us can go through a big one pretty fast. I tend to pull off a hunk and snack on it .... I'm always surprised the quality of strawberries that are available even in the winter.
And, Suzy, I just love coming to your blog and seeing that gorgeous, colorful bouquet in your header.
Debbie and Greg..faxing you some now!
Marigene..thanks for stopping by!
Marsha, hope you can find some soon! How close to Sams or Costco?
Thanks Carol!!
Thanks Cynthia! I love that bouquet too. I can't wait for summer so I can bring flowers in from outside again.
Kathleen..do the deer eat your strawberries too?
Hi Suzy!
This is the BEST way to have strawberry shortcut...it looks soooo good!
Thanks for stopping by...the peonies were from my garden, the pics from that post were actually taken in May a few years ago. You may be able to find them at a florists shop year round, not sure!
Have a fabulous day!
